Stockholm hat keine Fehler. Also nicht, dass ich wüsste. Stockholm ist, naja, hübsch. Mit Sonne sogar extrem hübsch. Die Schweden sind auf den ersten Blick nicht so hammerschön wie die Dänen. Aber gut, da muss ich glaub nochmal ‘nen zweiten Blick drauf werfen. So oder so. Der Trip nach Stockholm war super UND ehm, lehrreich. Also wegen der Fehler. Also meiner.
Ja, genau. Und bitte: fünf Fehler, die ich in Stockholm gemacht habe:
– Taxi fahren: Vom Flughafen in die Stadt ist es ein Stück. Und ja, ich wusste: das wird nicht billig. Aber anstatt mich besser zu informieren hab ich dem Typi am Flughafen geglaubt, dass es für zwei Personen fast genau das Gleiche kostet mit dem Taxi oder mit dem Bus zu fahren. 490 Schwedische Kronen. Uff. Sind umgerechnet 27 Euro pro Nase. Der günstigste Bus, der gerade mal zehn Minuten länger in die Stadt braucht kostet umgerechnet 13 Euro pro Person.
– Die falschen Fragen stellen: Gut, ja, ich dachte es wäre lustig mal ‘n Städtetrip zu machen so komplett ohne Plan, was da so geht. Das erste, was ich dann gesehen habe, war ‘n riesiges Haus mit ‘ner Wache davor. Hm, irgendwie wollte ich dann doch gern wissen, was das ist. Also hab ich gefragt. Die Wache dann so: THAT’S THE ROYAL PALACE!!! Uhm, ok. Durfte trotzdem ‘n Foto von ihm davor machen, aber peinlich war‘s mir schon. Irgendwie.
– Nix Schwedisches: Also gegessen. Aber ohne Quatsch es gibt sauleckeres italienisches Essen in Stockholm. Mein Tipp: Das Restaurant Agaton in Gamla Stan. Aber Vorsicht: Wenn man zu der Bedienung nicht sagt, dass man das Rückgeld wieder haben will behält sie es einfach. Vielleicht wäre sie netter gewesen, wenn ich was Schwedisches zum Essen bestellt hätte.
– Nix Schwedisches: Also getroffen. Dabei kenn ich sogar Leute, die in Stockholm wohnen. Aber anstatt rechtzeitig Bescheid zu geben, hab ich’s voll verpennt und dann hatte natürlich niemand Zeit. Mist. Aber… ich dachte das wäre ja nicht so schlimm… weil…
– Falsch gedacht: Warum auch immer war ich der festen Überzeugung, dass mein Bruder ja im Sommer nach Stockholm zieht für ‘n halbes Jahr und ich dann wiederkommen könnte und mir alles in Ruhe anschauen und dann auch alle Leute treffen könnte, die ich dort kenne. Falsch gedacht. Er zieht zwar nach Schweden, aber nicht nach Stockholm. Sondern nach Linköping. Gut, ist jetzt nicht ganz so weit weg, aber Linköping ist eben nicht Stockholm. Punkt.

I love that you asked the guard what that building was! That could have totally been me… I once stepped out of the subway in London and started taking pictures of a „pretty tower“…. I later realized it was Big Ben 🙂

I am going next month and will keep your post in mind (and memorize that building, of course…). I will be going with my (Swedish) boyfriend though, so mistake #4 is out. And I don’t agree on the Swedish not being as good looking as the Danes…but then again, I HAVE to say that.
One thing scares me though: when did you go? I see SNOW everywhere…aah.
Been there in February, it was f***ing cold but with the sun everything looked so beautiful. But I definitely have to go there again in summer… also to check how pretty the Swedish really are…:)
„Taking a cab.“ Word, sista‘. That’s true almost anywhere, but so annoyingly necessary sometimes!
Ya, right. Actually I love taking a cab as sometimes I’m just tooo lazy. But sadly it’s not always as cheap as in Berlin. Not to mention Thailand. Or… duh.
We’re making our way across the pond to Europe in a couple months and I hope we can make it up to Stockholm before winter. These tips are sure to help out 😉 Cheers!

I’m so glad you got to go to Stockholm and that I was able to see it through your photographs!! I’m half Swedish and I’ve never even been. What a treat. So glad you enjoyed it so much. This is a hilarious way to recount the trip and I really enjoyed it!

Stockholm is beautiful now. The snow has gone and the sun is shining this morning! You’re right about the taxis though, they are not cheap!

Yes, I was stumped. Didn’t know if I should say something… but the tip would have been really really too high so I did and got my change back to give her an adequate tip…:)

Nice post! I feel you on hitting the city without a clue. It always seems like a good idea until I find myself staring at a building/landmark desperately trying to figure out why it is important.:)
Thank you Randy! I think it can be a good way to find some „real“ unbeaten paths to visit a city/country/whatever without a clue what to see and do there… BUT yes there also can be some strange situation while doing this… 🙂 so I bet it’s better to be informed! At least a BIT… 🙂

I’ve made that kind of mistakes with cabs before – got totally robbed by a cabbie in Rome. Ah well, live and learn I suppose! I’d like to visit Sweden and might do next summer.
I think we all did… but sometimes it’s just easier to take a cab…
That’s funny about the Italian food. I often eat Italian food when I travel too. A lot of restaurants all over the world do Italian food really well — that’s not our fault 🙂

i thought one of your mistakes would have been to go there in winter. must have been reaaaaallly cold! and the day must have been short haven’t they?
