Take me anywhere. But the question is: WHERE?

21

I need to get out of here. Just anywhere. This ongoing winter-thing is pretty annoying and the few sunbeams just helped to activate my hay fever but didn’t really do anything to make me feel better. And I do have some spare time in April. That’s why I’m thinking since days about just flying somewhere. Somewhere warm. Or maybe somewhere where it’s really really cold? Na, I wanna go to the beach. I mean to the mountains. I wanna travel somewhere I’ve never been. Or maybe Thailand? And celebrate Songkran there?

But maybe I should stay in Berlin. Enjoy the first warm days of spring and finally getting all these posts done I wanted to write since like ever. And find a new apartment? (EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE A TIP!)

take me anywhere

I’ve created flight alerts on like every single flight search engine I know. To Bangkok, to Marrakesh, to Reykjavik, to Prague, to fuckknowswhere. And then again I’m thinking: Ohhhh, Zimbabwe would be interesting. Or France? I admit: I have no idea what to do. Where to go. I can’t make a decision. Yeah, I know: first world problem. And here’s your turn… I have at least one week, I could maybe do four weeks…

WHERE SHOULD I TRAVEL TO?

Any cool ideas? Any hidden spots? Leave a comment below or send me an email to [email protected]. Every single tip and help is highly appreciated.

Hi, I'm Yvonne. Travel addict. Guilty as charged. Right now I'm probably falling off a camel somewhere in a desert, getting a new tattoo from a monk in Thailand or am carrying my luggage through a river in the jungle. But just as well I could be sitting on my sofa in Berlin, in my pyjamas. Good girls to to heaven, bad girls go everywhere. Everywhere sounds much more promising. So be travelous and follow me!

  1. Spain! You could always go to Cadiz and enjoy the warm weather there. April is a good month for southern Spain if you’re looking for sun and sand. It might be a bit boring for four weeks, but you could always travel to Cadiz and make your way up the Portuguese coast…

    That’s my vote!

  2. Hi Yvonne,

My double “Caribbean” vote is for…. Bocas del Toro (Panama)… try to spend a couple of nights at Punta Caracol (ask for José Luis – Spanis/English) … or The Exumas (Bahamas), where I suggest you to sleep at Paradise Bay Bahamas (ask for Cédric – French/English).

If you choose for one of these two and you need more tips & advices, give me a shout. I know both destinations quite well.

Wherever you decide to go, enjoy it.

    J.

  3. Try drungli.com to get some travel ideas. You just have to enter your departure airport and drungli shows you the cheapest flight options from there, maybe you find a location you want to explore. I think this tool is an amazing invetion 😉
    Enjoy your travels!

  4. Hallo Yvonne,
Ich verfolge dich schon eine Weile auf deiner Seite und finde deine art zu schreiben toll, ganz zu schweigen von deinen Reisen. LIKE!!!

    Sarah

  6. Go to Georgia and Armenia. Two of the most beautiful countries you’ll ever see. Ultra-friendly and funny people, spectacular landscapes, 6000 years of civilization and a heavenly place for Food-lovers. Go there before mass tourism hits the two countries. They’ve already started to raise the first mass-hotel-bunkers in the mountains …

  7. I’m going to Pittsburgh in a couple of weeks if you want to join me 🙂

This time of year, I would go somewhere warm, especially since you live in Berlin. Get away from winter and enjoy some nice weather (FYI – that’s probably not Pittsburgh).

  8. Do you see what you opened yourself up to?! Honestly, I would stay put in Berlin. You’ve traveled so much and you’re traveling more. You’ll appreciate the break to catch up (and find a new apartment! Seriously, do you sleep?!). BUT if you want to come anywhere, I’ll be in Chicago April 10-14. And I’m planning NYC for after TBEX. Come with?!

  9. Kapverden, Seychellen oder Galapagos ! ! !

  11. 10 hour direct flight from Frankfurt to Cancun is generally 300-400 euro on Condor. Overnight bus to Belize on ADO. Maya jungle and some of the best diving/snorkeling in the world. Take your time going back and enjoy mexico in the yucatan. 2 or 3 week trip?

  12. Going places: Shimla (Indian mountains) + Dharamsala (India, home of Dalai Lama); Krabi (Thailand) – even you’ve been there you haven’t seen paradise if you didn’t visit that island -; Tuamotu Islands (French Polynesia, maybe the cleanest place on this earth – absolutely pollution free); Amazonas (South America) and in Europe the Pyrenees. And the craziness of Tokyo – would love to read from you about this city. I always think by reading your posts if you would be a city you would be Tokyo 🙂

    Cheers from Delhi,
    Antje
