Video: A Road Trip in Emilia-Romagna

11

I’m a huge road trip fan. Give me a car, sunshine and I’m happy. And it doesn’t matter where I am, the essential thing is nature – road trips in cities is not so much my style. In July I was for one week in Emilia-Romagna and it was pretty easy to convince Nick and Sebastian to go on a road trip with me! We just jumped in the car and hit the road. That’s what I like most when going on a road trip: just driving and driving without any special plan and just stay where it’s beautiful. And that’s what we did. We drove up and down the mountains, visited every castle which came in sight (and I’m pretty sure we heard a ghost in one of the castles, but the guys laughed at me), we climbed down an old Roman bridge to a river bed to have picnic there, met awesome people on the way and we even had a Disney moment when we drove through a valley with thousand and thousand of butterflies. I nearly started singing…

Road Trip, Baby!

As I’m compiling right now the ultimate road trip playlist… what do you think – which are the best songs for a road trip?

Hi, I'm Yvonne. Travel addict. Guilty as charged. Right now I'm probably falling off a camel somewhere in a desert, getting a new tattoo from a monk in Thailand or am carrying my luggage through a river in the jungle. But just as well I could be sitting on my sofa in Berlin, in my pyjamas. Good girls to to heaven, bad girls go everywhere. Everywhere sounds much more promising. So be travelous and follow me!

  1. Picturesque views. Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing.

And I think any music with a mellifluous beat can be the backdrop to jaw dropping scenery. Good work!

  2. Beautiful! It looks as though you are all having the time of your lives! The scenery is gorgeous – as is the ancient architecture and it’s remnants and well-maintained ruins. A perfect region for a picnic.. or perhaps even few days or weeks of slow, beautiful living!

  3. You did it right, love to be surprised by where the road goes and what’s seen along the way… even if I choose a road without much on it, maybe just fields or just bldgs – you don’t know unless you… go!

  4. I love the way you edited this video. The song, the shots of fields and butterflies, the close-up of the wine landing in your glass — it’s all so breezy and beautiful. I want to go back to Emilia-Romagna now.
