Hosting travelers in our apartment has been a surprisingly smooth experience. Unlike traditional short-term rental platforms, where guests may treat the space as a temporary hotel, HomeExchange members seem to have a different mindset\u2014perhaps because they, too, are homeowners or renters offering up their own homes in exchange. Each time we\u2019ve hosted, our guests left our apartment cleaner than we expected, which is a pleasant contrast to some of our experiences with other platforms.
