Die Currywurst. 800 Millionen werden in Deutschland jährlich gegessen. Ja, 800 MILLIONEN. Noch jemand, der sich wundert, dass es ein Currywurst Museum gibt? Und wo sollte das denn auch sonst sein, als in der Wiege der Currywurst, in Berlin.
Currywurst und Berliner Weisse – die perfekte Kombi
Das Currywurst Museum in Berlin
Nur wenige Wurstlängen vom berühmten Checkpoint Charlie und der Friedrichstraße entfernt, kann man im Deutschen Currywurst Museum seit 2009 der Currywurst auf den Zipfel gehen. Und erfährt dabei nicht nur, wo man in Berlin überall seinen Wursthunger stillen kann, aus welchen unterschiedlichsten Gewürzen Currypulver bestehen kann, sondern zum Beispiel auch, wo die Ursprünge des Fast Food liegen.

Wer hat’s erfunden?
Die Currywurst gehört zu Berlin wie der schiefe Turm nach Pisa. Auch wenn der ein oder andere Hans Wurst doch glatt behauptet, die Currywurst sei in Hamburg erfunden worden. Ist sie nicht. Also, wer hat’s erfunden? Die Berlinerin Herta Heuwer. Und zwar 1949. Und das, auch mal wieder typisch Berlin, mehr durch Langeweile als Zufall. An ihrer Wurstbude war nichts los, sie hatte Ketchup, Currypulver und Würste, und mixte einfach so drauf los. Heraus kam die Currywurst. Ihre Soße „Chillup“ ließ sich Herta 1959 patentieren, das Original-Rezept nahm sie mit ins Grab.

Wer nach all dem Rumwursteln, Schmecken, Riechen, Anfassen und In-ner-nachgebauten-Imbissbude-rumstehen im Currywurst Museum eine Pause braucht, der kann es sich auf dem Sofa gemütlich machen. Auf dem Wurst-Sofa. Hier geht es wirklich komplett um die. Ja. Genau. Wurst.
Chillen auf ’ner Wurst
Ohne Currywurst im Magen geht hier aber keiner raus. Denn im Eintrittspreis enthalten ist natürlich auch die Extrawurst. Und die gibt es auf Wunsch sogar vegetarisch.

Ich würde sagen die Currywurst kommt weder aus Hamburg noch aus Berlin sondern aus dem Ruhrgebiet denn hier gibt es die einzig wahre und leckere Currywurst die auch mit einer echten Rostbratwurst gemacht wird! Ich habe noch nie eine Bessere gegessen!!!!
Also das nenne ich mal einen richtigen Geheimtipp für meinen nächsten Trip nach Berlin! Mich wundert es, dass ich noch nie etwas von diesem Museum gehört habe, war schon zweimal in der deutschen Hauptstadt aber bis jetzt noch nie in diesem einzigartigem Museum. Als absoluter Fan der deutschen Currywurst muss ich da unbedingt mal vorbei schauen, vor allem wenn sogar die Wurst inklusive ist. 😀
