Classpass vs Urban Sports Club (Best Flexible Fitness App 2026)
Finding a great gym in Amsterdam that you love when you move can be tough. A great way to explore all the gyms in your area is through fitness apps (comparison of Classpass vs Urban Sports Club explored below). Instead of subscribing to one gym, subscribing to a flexible fitness app allows you to explore hundreds of gyms in your area. During my eight years living and working in Amsterdam, I continuously tested the available flexible fitness networks to optimize both cost and variety. In 2026, the two dominant platforms are ClassPass and Urban Sports Club (which fully absorbed the OneFit network in 2024). While both eliminate single-gym lock-in, their underlying pricing models and usage restrictions dictate drastically different user experiences. In my opinion: ClassPass is the Superior Choice.
ClassPass vs Urban Sports Club: Which App is Better in 2026?
Bottom Line Up Front: ClassPass is the Superior Choice
Classpass is my clear winner in this battle for fitness apps:
- Get more for your money since the app credits go farther. Most ClassPass gyms offer discounts for first-timers, taking a class at off-peak hours, and “we miss you” discounts when you have not been to a specific gym in a while. These discounts allow for your credits to go much farther on ClassPass.
- ClassPass is a global platform so you can use the credits in most large cities around the world when you are traveling, even outside Europe.
- ClassPass includes lots of restaurants and beauty within the membership. If you have credits left over at the end of the month, you can get lunch, a hair cut or a massage with the extra points.
- No limit on specific gym frequency. Urban Sports Club limits the number of times you can attend a gym in a month. This can be really limiting when you find a gym you love and want to go to every week. Urban Sports Club also limits the number of classes that you can book in advance (only 2 on the basic membership. I found this really frustrating since you could not plan out your week of workouts but had to go in every few days to book and some of the classes fill up since you can only book 2 in advance.
- Urban Sports Club also does not allow you to see the name of the teachers at the gyms. I really like specific teachers so I found it limiting that you could not see that information.
- More options: ClassPass Amsterdam for example has hundreds of participating gyms with new gyms added all the time. Urban Sports Club was missing some of my favorite gyms like Velo and PLTS, which are all available on Classpass.

Urban Sports Club
What is Urban Sports Club?
Urban Sports Club (previously OneFit) is a similar concept allowing you to work out whenever, wherever you want. Create your own workout routine with a flexible monthly sports subscription in the Netherlands. Urban Sports Clubs has access to hundreds of gyms across France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Belgium.

Urban Sports Club Highlights
- Straight forward credit system where you buy a specific quantity of workouts. They tend to be more expensive per workout than on ClassPass.
- Key limitation – most of their plans will limit how many times you can return to the same gym within a month which can be really limiting if you find somewhere you love
- Easy-to-use app which allows you to discover new gyms and new workouts.
Urban Sports ClubPricing
Urban Sports Club has four pricing options with 4 – 18 workout plans ranging from 35 euros to 165 euros per month. They also have discounts if you sign up for an annual plan vs. month to month.
ClassPass vs Urban Sports Club Wrap Up
ClassPass is the clear winner since you get more for your money. Both apps offer an awesome service to build your own flexible workout plan at hundreds of gyms. Even after using ClassPass for eight years, I still love it because I can go to spin, boxing, yoga, and weight training all in one week at different gyms. The variety keeps me interested in working out so I never get bored with the same old workout routine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ClassPass cheaper than Urban Sports Club?
It depends on how often you go and how many different gyms you want to try. ClassPass credits stretch further because of off-peak, first-timer, and “we miss you” discounts, while Urban Sports Club charges a flatter rate per check-in. For most people who like variety, ClassPass ends up cheaper per workout.
Can I cancel my ClassPass membership anytime?
Yes, ClassPass memberships are month-to-month with no long-term contract, so you can cancel or pause anytime before your next billing date.
What’s actually included in the free ClassPass trial?
The 14-day trial includes 10 free workouts (one per studio), which is roughly €40-90 of value depending on which gyms you pick. Any credits left over roll into your first paid month if you decide to continue.
Can I use ClassPass outside Amsterdam?
Yes, ClassPass is a global platform, so the same credits work in most major cities around the world, not just Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht.
